 Divorce and Family Law

Whether you go through a contested or uncontested divorce, with conflict or in a collaborative manner, I work in partnership with you, moving as thoroughly and quickly toward a resolution as possible.  The issues that we will address and solve include child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, and equitable distribution of the marital assets. I will be there every step of the way to  lessen the impact of process on you and your children. I also provide a wide variety of additional family law services:

  • Pre-nuptial Agreements

  • Post-nuptial Agreements

  • Post-divorce Enforcement

  • Enforcement of Grandparents' Rights

  • Enforcement of Children's Rights

Mediation

Divorce mediation is based on the principles of:

  • Voluntariness

  • Transparency

  • Mutual Respect

  • Specialized communication and negotiation practices

Mediation is non-confrontational and progressive. During mediation, you and your spouse will be encouraged to focus on the future and problem solve strategies rather than focusing on the conflicts of the past. You will be guided to use "constructive conflict" - the art of taking disagreements and using them as a basis for a successful resolution. The process is also "child centered" whereby the parties are encouraged to consider and address the needs of children first and foremost.

Parent Coordination

Parenting Coordination is a child-centered process that assists divorced and divorcing parents in understanding the best interests of the children and their developmental needs.

Parent Coordination is especially useful in cases where there are high levels of conflict. The family’s interactions and decisions are monitored to ensure that parents fulfill their obligations to their children and consider all of their needs.

Parents with serious communication difficulties or with serious allegations about each other may request the services of a Parent Coordinator. The PC is trained to work as a neutral with the parents to ensure parental access and protect children from unnecessary stress.
